    DC PARENT MEETING UPDATE INFO

    Good morning,

We wanted to let everyone know about the golf outing. We have had a few questions about the event, so here is some information to answer your questions:

The golf outing is on May 5th at Hazelden Country Club.

    • We will have lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 pm and tee off at 1:00.
    • The cost to sponsor a hole is $50.00 (This donation will go directly to the student who gets the hole sponsor.)
    • The cost to play is $45.00 per person or $180.00 per team. (If a student gets a team or a person to play, then that student will receive a portion of the cost.  We have to pay the golf course first for the use of the golf course and for our lunch.)  We will know the exact cost in a few weeks.

    Parent Meeting

    Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Parent Meeting will be held in the library at 5:30 pm to discuss the latest information about the trip.  You can find out the latest balance for your student's trip account, and learn about the DC Breakfast details.  The DC Breakfast will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Rensselaer.  You will be able to pick up tickets at the meeting so that your student can begin selling their tickets.  All money paid for the tickets will go directly to a student's account for the trip, so this is a wonderful way for your student to pay for their trip.

REMINDER: We are half way throug the year.  Students must attend 6 of the 9 morning club meetings, have a B- overall GPA in all of their 8th grade classes and a Level 3 average on the RCMS Behavior Pyramid.  You can check on your students's qualification requirements so far as well at the meeting.

    GOOD NEWS!!!

We have received the confirmation of our US Capitol tour from Congressman Visclosky's office.  We will be visiting the Capitol on Friday, June 8th at 12:30 p.m. (DC time)!!!!

    REMINDER!!!!!
REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS

A deposit of $200.00 is due by December 1, 2011.  This can be turned in by check (made out to RCMS) or cash, and can be turned into Mr. Feagans, Ms. Tongish, or the office.

    November 15, 2011
We would like to do a big shout out of thanks to Burger King and McDonald's for the two fundraising nights we had at their local restaurants!  We had a lot of students and their families and friends come eat both nights to support the students going on the trip.  We are currently doing our first online fundraiser.  Click on the Click Fundraising.org website on the right of this page to participate in this fundraiser.  You can either order product and it will be shipped directly to you, or you can directly donate money for the trip.  If there is a student you know is attending the trip, check with them to see if they set up their own page so that the money will be marked from their trip's cost.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Tongish or Mr. Feagans.

    Monday, October 24, 2011
There will be a student and parent informational meeting held at 7:30 pm in the RCMS library following parent/teacher conferences.  We will be discussing the tentative itinerary, the cost of the trip, deposit and payment information, and the fundraisers that we have scheduled so far.  We have scheduled the following fundraisers so far: Burger King night on Oct. 25th, McDonald's night on Nov. 10th, online fundraisers for November and December, and the DC Breakfast on March 4th.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, be sure to talk to Ms. Tongish or Mr. Feagans since we are talking about the cost of the trip, deposits and fundraisers.

Thursday, September 1st and Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Parent and Student information sessions will be held to announce the trip, go over the requirements to qualify for the trip, and answer any early questions.  These sessions will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 7:30 am in Ms. Tongish's room, and on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 5:00 pm in Ms. Tongish's room.
